विवरण :
खीरा खेतों में बोये जाते हैं तथा इसकी एक प्रजाति जंगलों में भी पायी जाती है। फूल छोटे -छोटे , पीले रंग के तथा फल एक फ़ीट लम्बे होते हैं। फल के ऊपर काँटों से चिन्ह होते हैं तथा ऊपर से लिखे हुए के सामान होते हैं।
गुण :
छोटा नीला और नया खीरा मधुर और शीतल होता है। यह तृषा, ग्लानि और दाह को जीतने वाला तथा पित्त एवं अन्य रक्तपित्त रोग नाशक होता है।
पका फल खट्टा , गरम ,पित्तकारक तथा कफ एवं बातनाशक होता है।
खीरे का बीज मूत्रकारक ,शीतल व रूखा होता है. यह पित्त, रक्तविकार और मूत्रकृक्ष का नाश करने वाला होता है।
खीरे के फल को विभिन्न सौंदर्य बढ़ाने के उत्पादों में प्रयोग किया जाता है। खीरे को काटकर आँखों के ऊपर रखने पर शीतल करता है एवं आँखों की रोशनी को बढ़ाता है तथा आँखों के नीचे के कालेपन को नष्ट करता है।

An Account :
Cucumbers are sown in the fields and one of its species is also found in the forests. The flowers are small, yellow and the fruits are one feet long. The fruit has marks with thorns and as a writing marks on upper .
Properties:
The small blue and the new cucumber are sweet and cool. It conquers thirst, ignominy and inflammation and is a disease killer of bile and other hematoma.
Ripe fruits are sour, hot, bile-causing and phlegm and antiseptic.
Cucumber seeds are urinary, cold and rough. It is a destroyer of bile, blood disorders and urinary bladder.
Cucumber fruit is used in various beauty enhancement products. When the cucumber is cut and placed on top of the eyes, it cools down and increases the eyesight and destroys the blackness under the eyes.
