विवरण :
खरबूज़ नदी के किनारे रेतीली भूमि में बोये जाते हैं। इसकी बेल होती है। पत्ते गोल-गोल और फूल पीले रंग के होते हैं। चैत्र -बैशाख (मार्च -अप्रैल ) में फल लगते हैं।
फल अत्यंत शोभायमान और दस रेखायुक्त होते हैं। फल का रंग पीला और रेखाओं का रंग नीला होता है। इसके भीतर गूदे समेत बीज होते हैं। बीज को पीसकर मींग निकाली जाती है जिसे विभिन्न उपयोगों में लाया जाता है।
खरबूज़ मूत्रकारक तथा बलदायक होता है। यह कोठे को शुद्ध करने वाला , भारी तथा स्निग्ध होता है। खरबूज़ अत्यंत स्वादिष्ट, शीतल और वीर्यवर्धक होता है। खरबूज़ पित्त तथा बातनाशक होता है।
खट्टा ,मीठा व खारे रस वाला खरबूज़ रक्तपित्त एवं अत्यंत मूत्रकृक्ष वाला होता है।

Melons are sown in sandy land on the banks of the river. It has a vine. The leaves are round and the flowers are yellow in colour. Chaitra-Baisakh (March-April) bears fruit.
The fruits are extremely beautiful and have ten lines. The colour of the fruit is yellow and the colour of the lines is blue. It contains seeds including pulp. The seed is ground which is used in various uses.
Quality:
Melon is diuretic and strong. It is a purifying, heavy and smooth place. Melonis are extremely delicious, cool and semen-enhancing. Melons are bile and antiseptic.
Melons with sour, sweet and saline juice are blood bile and highly diuretic.
