विवरण :
कैथ के बृक्ष सम्पूर्ण हिन्दुस्तान में पाए जाते हैं। बृक्ष लम्बाई में अत्यंत ऊँचे और झाड़ीदार होते हैं। पत्ते छोटे - छोटे
मेंहदी के समान ,फूल छोटे छोटे सफ़ेद रंग के होते हैं। इनमे वर्षा ऋतू में कलियाँ निकलतीं हैं फल बेल के समान गोल - गोल होते हैं। इनके फलो में एक बहुत ही मनोरंजक बात है की यदि इनके फल हाथी खा लेता है तो फल बिना टूटे ही ,गूदे पेट में रह जाता है और ऊपर का कडा छिलका साबुत बाहर आ जाता है ,इसीलिए इसे हाथी बेल के नाम से भी जानते हैं।
गुण :
कैथ का कच्चा फल ग्राही ,कसैला , हल्का और लेखन है। पका फल भारी होता है तथा तृषा , हिचकी , बात तथा पित्त को नष्ट करता है। कैथ का बहुत ही छोटा फल कसैला होता है तथा कंठ को शुद्ध करता है। छोटा फल ग्राही तथा दुर्जर है।

An Account :
Elephant apple tree is found all over India. The trees are extremely tall and bushy in length. Leaves small - small Like henna, flowers are small white in colour. In the rainy season, buds come out, the fruits are round and round like wood apple. One of the very interesting things in their fruits is that if the elephant eats their fruits, the fruit remains in the stomach without breaking, and the top hard peel comes out whole, so it is also known as elephant apple.
Properties:
The raw fruit of caith is receptor , astringent, light and writing. Ripe fruits are heavy and destroy thirst, hiccups, talk and bile. A very small fruit of cath is astringent and purifies the throat. Small fruit is a receptor.
